ARTE RUPESTRE IN GRECIA (STATO DELLA RICERCA)

La presente comunicazione descrive lo stato attuale della ricerca sull”arte rupestre in Grecia. E” necessario, però, anticipare che l”interessamento della comunità scientifica per l”arte rupestre ellenica dovrebbe intensificarsi, considerando che la posizione geografica di questi siti coincide con le aree dei flussi antropici che hanno favorito l”osmosi culturale verso Ovest. Il comune di Filippi, area della massima concentrazione, ha modificato il suo stesso piano edificatorio definendo l”intera zona del sito rupestre come ”zona A”, ad alto grado di protezione per la sua notevole importanza archeologica ed etnologica, per la storia locale.  A tale scopo si sta pensando alla realizzazione di un ecomuseo all”aperto che includa arte rupestre e vestigia storiche, in un raggio di area protetta di almeno due Km²; auspicando nel coinvolgimento e nella sensibilizzazione dell”intera comunità civile e scolastica. La ricerca qui presentata non è da considerarsi completa poiché negli ultimi mesi sono stati identificati nuovi siti, ancora da catalogare.[nggallery id=27]Seguendo l”ormai classica catalogazione proposta da Anati (E.Anati, Arte rupestre il linguaggio dei primordi, Ed. del Centro 1994), possiamo distinguere grosso modo tre fasce geografiche nell”evoluzione dell”arte rupestre ellenica. La prima comprende l”isola di Creta, la seconda il complesso delle isole Cicladi ed Evia, l”ultima la Macedonia e la Tracia.

Creta
Nella località Asfedou (Sfakia), a SO dell”isola, si è scoperto un riparo sotto roccia a 950 m s.l.m. di dimensioni 6x4x15 m. Le incisioni filiformi (Fig. 1) si trovano sul piano di calpestio e coprono una superficie di circa 116x 63 cm. Malgrado l”unicità del ritrovamento, finora non si è fatto un rilevamento secondo i criteri scientifici che ci permettono di individuare le diverse fasi d”incisione. Analizzando i disegni dello scopritore, Papoutsakis nel 1973, riconosciamo: figure di animali con lineamenti naturalistici, alberiformi, piccoli ammassi di coppelle ordinate in linea doppia oppure in schema circolare che fanno collocare la scena nella prima fase dei cacciatori-raccoglitori. La presenza di un simbolo solare, ad un”estremità del disegno e di un”imbarcazione, all”altra estremità, riportano alle società evolute, complesse, come quelle dei popoli del mare.

Una seconda località con arte rupestre dipinta è stata scoperta da Paul Faure nel 1964, in una caverna del monte Kapparukefala, vicino al villaggio di Pervolakia (Sitia), datata al 1400 a.C.

Isole Cicladi
La principale concentrazione dell”arte rupestre delle Cicladi è nell”isola di Naxos. Nel 1965 Doumas ha segnalato, nella località di Cima d”Aronio, la scoperta di alcune tavolette di marmo incise con scene di navigazione, di caccia e di fertilità (Fig. 2). Nel museo di Apeiranthos (Naxos) si può ammirare la pietra di Driti, sulla quale sono incise impronte di piedi umani connessi ad un simbolo solare. Questa pietra fa eco a Beltran, che dichaira: ”Ci riferiamo alle relazioni tra l”Atlantico ed il Mediterraneo, …senza trascurare la via micenea (verso il centro Europa) arrivata fino alle Alpi a diffondere simboli…” (A. Beltran, Arte rupestre preistorica, pp. 95, 96. Jaca Book, Milano1993). A tale proposito è importante ricordare anche la presenza di dolmen e menhir ad Apeiranthos e Tsicalario, i quali attestano anche nell”Egeo un arco culturale che dal Mediterraneo si estende fino alle isole britanniche (G. Dimitriadis, Alla periferia della Grecità: Coppelle e canaletti nell”arte rupestre e nei megaliti. BCNews, Marzo 2000; Gli schemi geometrici in AA.VV. Il segno minore, Edizioni del Centro, 2001 ).

Evia
Nell”ambito della stessa fascia cicladica segnaliamo, nella località di Stira, la presenza di un disegno filiforme di un bovide su parete, il quale ricorda le grandi figure animali dell”arte levantina. In prossimità del sito, una costruzione megalitica (Dracospito) avvalora l”ipotesi di un permanente popolamento a Sud dell”isola.

Tracia
Nella località Rousses sul promontorio di Rodopi, su segnalazione di Triandafillou nel 1973, si sono individuate rocce incise di 2 x 1.70 x 1.75 m. La maggior parte presentano coppelle di media dimensione, ma un orante con grandi mani esalta la composizione scenica (Fig. 3). Inoltre, segnaliamo un sistema di megaliti dentro un cimitero musulmano, con allineamenti astronomicamente significativi.

Macedonia Nel NE Macedonia (provincia di Kavala) lo scrivente, da due anni, porta avanti la prima ricerca e catalogazione sistematica dell”arte rupestre ellenica (G.Dimitriadis, Alla periferia della Grecità: L”arte rupestre degli Edoni Traci in Valcamonica Symposium, 1999). Lo scopo è sia di colmare il vuoto degli studi nella zona E-IV che di completare il programma WARA. Il sito in discussione si trova nella frazione di Seliani (comune di Filippi, rocce SFa/R1-2-3) e riguarda un santuario degli Edoni Traci, legato al mito del cavaliere trace nel periodo d”assestamento culturale europeo tra Bronzo finale e Ferro iniziale. Particolare importanza riveste l”evoluzione stilistica individuabile sulla Roccia 1 (Fig. 4), in cui lo stile di tipo ”levantino” fa da base per le ulteriori elaborazioni ideologiche e stilistiche riguardo la trasformazione del corpo del bovino in arco. L”analisi statistica prevede la maggiore concentrazione tipologica sulla Roccia 3 (Fig. 5). Lungo la catena montuosa di Kaikmatsalan (NO Macedonia) che fa da spartiacque tra la Grecia e la Macedonia (FYROM), sono venuti alla luce, su segnalazione di speleologi, nuovi siti di arte rupestre che necessitano di rilevamento, catalogazione ed ulteriore analisi.
